The excitement is brewing! The 2nd Annual New England Pond Hockey Classic is taking place on February 4-6 in the scenic resort village of Meredith right on the icy shores of Lake Winnipesaukee! This will be an incredible event to view. Talk about an old time New England feeling. Visitors will feel like they have traveled back in time as they pull into Meredith with the charming character and old New England architecture. It’s presently snowing out and we’re expecting approximately twenty inches of snow which will create a beautiful setting for this major event. This year the event has more than doubled in size. There will be 152 teams competing in various divisions on fourteen rinks which have been meticulously manicured in Meredith Bay in front of Lago’s.
There are ice fishing bob houses scattered around the ice hockey rinks along with vendors and other restaurants. I attended this event last year and I felt like it was a phenomenal success with approximately 1000 hockey players registered this will be a rewarding experience if you attend this traditional, nostalgic and competitive atmosphere. The Lakes Region is truly amazing and the winter sports participation just keeps growing!
