Which State has the Best Quality of Life? New Hampshire, of course!

A recent study from the Organization for Economic Cooperation & Development (OECD) rated New Hampshire as the #1 State in the country with the “Best Quality of Life.” The study compared nine important factors that contribute to our well-being; education, jobs, income, safety, health, environment, civic engagement, accessibility to services and housing.

NH had the lowest homicide rate in the country, the lowest poverty rate in the country at 8.7% of all residents. We’re the #1 state for accessibility of services with 79% of households reporting they have access to broadband. NH also had the 7th highest household disposable income per capita and the 7th highest employment rate at 77% in the country. Voter turnout was 6th highest in the USA.

  5. North Dakota
  6. Colorado
  7. Massachusetts
  8. Maine
  9. Washington
  10. Wisconsin
